Set up in 1946 by the then Managing Director of Cartiere Miliani, Luigi Tosti Duke of Valminuta, the watermark collection consists in samples dating back to 1785 and manufactured by Italian and foreign paper mills.
The collection containing over 1.500 samples, is continually being updated and also includes loose papers retrieved from the Historic Archives of Cartiere Miliani. It would only be necessary to identify and select papers manufactured in Fabriano.
